Venturi pattern plug valve
Venturi pattern plug valve can be used as idealcutting off valves in any working condition, including most critical environments, which feature very compact in design, requiring only less installation space. So, it can also be applicable in such occasions as quick action, without failure, and highly effect tightness, to be installed at any random position. The basic operation of this kind plug valve is quite convenient. The valve will open to the closing position as they turn at 90, and vice versa.
Venturi pattern plug valve-Feature
The Venturi pattern plug valve are suitable for use in pipelines for various kinds of working conditions with nominal pressure of CLASS 150~2500 LB and working temperature of -29~180 in such industries as petroleum, chemistry, pharmacy, chemical fertilizer, and power plant etc. to turn on or cut off the flow medium of the pipelines.
Short Pattern Plug Valves have compact face to face dimensions (like a Gate Valve) and rectangular port areas of 40% to 60% of a Full Bore Plug Valve. This provides an economical valve for services where some reduction of flow rates can be tolerated. The Short Pattern is only in classes 150 and 300.
Venturi Pattern Plug Valves also have a longer face to face but with a rectangular port areas of 40-50% of a Full Bore Plug Valve. These are typically used on services where flow rate is not critical. The long lead into and out of the port minimizes pressure drop when the valve is fully opened.
Regular Pattern Plug Valves have longer face to face dimensions and rectangular port areas of 50-70% of a Full Bore Plug Valve. This configuration provides minimal loss of flow while economizing on the overall valve dimensions from using rectangular port.
Full Bore Plug Valves have long face to face dimensions and a round port than is not smaller than minimum diameter specified in Annex A of ASME B16.34 or/and API 6D. This configuration provides unrestricted flow and allows the passage of pigs through the valve. It is also recomanted for highly abrasive conditions as it minimizes pressure drop and erosion in the valve.
It is easy to operate the plug valve due to the structure of inverted pressure balance.
There has designed oil groove between valve body and sealing surface, through which the sealing lubricant can be injected into valve seat at any time by the grease injector to enhance the sealing function.
