The UNS N08020 Ball Valve is a robust flow control device made from Alloy 20 (UNS N08020), a low-carbon, niobium-stabilized austenitic nickel alloy for superior resistance to corrosive environments. This valve features a hollow, perforated ball that pivots to regulate fluid flow; it allows passage when the ball's hole is aligned with the flow direction and blocks flow when rotated 90 degrees, providing a secure shut-off. The UNS N08020 Ball Valve is ideal for applications demanding both high corrosion resistance and precise flow control. Alloy 20 shares similar properties with Grade 316 Stainless Steel. It is occasionally utilized as a replacement for stainless steel in environments rich in chloride, as Alloy 20 provides superior resistance to chloride-induced corrosion cracking compared to SS 316.
