Key Structural Features of Floating Ball Valves

Floating ball valves play a crucial role in fluid control, and their structural features are designed to enhance operational safety and prevent potential accidents. Here are the key features that distinguish floating ball valves:

1. Prevention of Handle Misoperation:
Ordinary ball valves can be prone to misoperation due to the flat connection between the handle and valve stem. However, the floating ball valve's design eliminates this concern. The connection between the handle and valve stem is configured to prevent errors, ensuring proper valve operation.

2. Locking Mechanism:
To enhance safety, manual ball valves are equipped with a locking mechanism that allows them to be secured in fully open or fully closed positions. This feature prevents unauthorized personnel from tampering with the valve, reducing the risk of malfunctions or accidents caused by unexpected valve movements.

3. Anti-Flying Valve Stem Shoulder:
A critical safety feature, the floating ball valve includes a shoulder on the lower part of the valve stem. This design prevents the valve stem from flying out in the event of abnormal internal pressure increase. Additionally, to address potential fire hazards, a thrust bearing is incorporated at the valve stem's lower shoulder to create an inverted sealing seat, preventing leakage and minimizing the risk of accidents.

4. Anti-Static Function:
The floating ball valve incorporates an anti-static function to address concerns related to static electricity. Electrostatic springs are strategically placed between the valve stem and the ball, as well as between the ball and the valve stem. These springs channel static electricity to the ground through the pipeline, ensuring the safety of the overall system.

5. No Leakage Valve Body Sealing Structure:
To prevent external leakage caused by factors such as fire, high temperature, vibration, and torque unevenness, the connection between the valve body and the side valve body is sealed using gaskets. The floating ball valve goes a step further by incorporating a metal seal between the valve body and the side valve body. This design ensures a secure, no-leakage seal, even under challenging conditions.

The combination of these structural features makes floating ball valves reliable, safe, and effective for various applications, particularly in industries where safety and precision are paramount.
